Research and Publications
As an undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh, I have had the opportunity to work in the Human Movement and Balance Lab (HMBL) to conduct an independent research study relating to occupational injury.

My research at HMBL was published in the peer-reviewed academic journal, Applied Ergonomics. Click here to view the article!
Additionally, the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA)'s Traumatic Injury Prevention Cross-Sector Council recently approved posters that were made based on my research to spread awareness about the low-cost test I developed to determine if slip-resistant shoes need to be replaced.
Background
The goal of my project was to identify a low-cost, easy, and ergonomic way to determine if a slip-resistant shoe is becoming too worn and could increase the wearer's likelihood of injury due to slipping.
Currently, 40-50% of fall-related occupational injuries are due to slips, and shoe replacement can result in a 55% reduction in the rate of slipping.
